Nurse-led Unit, Battledown Ward
24/02/2006
"Earlier this month, the Health Community issued a public statement highlighting that the NHS locally must make radical decisions and make tough choices if it is to meet significant financial challenges in 2006/2007.
The affordability of a wide variety of county-wide service development schemes are now subject to review given these financial constraints including the developments that form part of the Review of Children’s Services for 2006/2007. No decisions have yet been taken by Gloucestershire’s PCTs and we regret any uncertainty that this may cause within the local community.
We expect to be in a position to bring forward a full range of service proposals for consideration at the end of March 2006. We will keep our staff, partners and the public informed as this work progresses, but we acknowledge that some very difficult decisions will need to be made if we are to live within our means financially and maintain high standards of clinical care for our patients."
