The patch of Newent and Staunton is a largely rural area with a centre of population in the historic market town of Newent. The practice population is 16,430.
Staunton and Corse is a widespread rural area with no single population centre, although the towns of Ledbury, Tewkesbury and Gloucester are all within a short traveling distance.
To help the PCT better understand the priorities of the local community and to respond to their health needs, the Newent and Staunton Patch Team has been formed, involving front-line health and social services staff and local people in local decision-making about local health services.
