About the Patch • Patch Profile • Patch Projects • Lydney Option Appraisal
The patch can be described as semi-rural with several villages, the largest of which is Bream and one urban centre of population (Lydney). The areas has a practice population of 24,800 and covers 188 square km’s.
Lydney and District Community Hospital is based within the patch along with 5 GP practices (Lydney Health Centre, Severnbank Surgery; Lydney, Yorkley Health Centre, Blakeney Surgery and Wye Valley Practice, St Briavels).
To help the PCT better understand the priorities of the local community and to respond to their health needs, the South Forest Patch Team has been formed, involving front-line health and social services staff and local people in local decision-making about local health services.
