Health Visitors and experienced Mothers are working in partnership to support new Mothers to breast feed for longer. Ali White, Health Visitor said: “The group gives Mums the opportunity to build their skills and increase their confidence to breast feed. For the Health Visitors involved it is a great opportunity to work in a new way.” |
Diabetic diet and exercise programme
Mandy Hampton, District Nursing Sister at Rosebank Surgery has set up a diabetic diet and exercise programme at GL1 Leisure Centre. The sessions involve light exercise, guest speakers and support from the Primary Health Care Team.
Mandy said: “We aim to help people effectively manage their diabetes by improving their health and lifestyle.”
Health and awareness sessions
Staff Nurse, Karen Gardner has initiated exercise and health awareness sessions for older people living in the Quedgeley area.
Karen said: “The aim is to improve people’s health and wellbeing in a non-clinical setting.”
